Why We Will Lose the Homosexual Marriage Battle
Prediction: American pro-family activists are on track to lose the homosexual marriage battle within the next twelve years.
Short of supernatural intervention, there are three indisputable reasons why we are set to lose the homosexual marriage battle, and why you can expect homosexual laboratories in high schools within 20 years from now.
Historically, one finds many examples of homosexual high schools and mentorships in decaying cultures - from Greece to Rome. Unless something changes, America will be no exception. Ever since the 1980's we have been careening straight toward full-bore acceptance of homosexuality.
There are now sodomites who fill the highest positions of American government in the executive, judicial and legislative branches (of both Democrat and Republican stripes).
But none of these are reasons that will guarantee a wholesale acceptance of homosexuality and homosexual marriage in America. Here's one reason:
Public schools and media have already sold the concept to the populace.
While recent polling (Rocky Mountain News, September 19, 2006) suggests that 52% of the populace opposes homosexual marriages and civil unions, a full 67% of those who have post-graduate degrees support homosexual marriage, and 70% of those under 35 years of age support homosexual unions.
The bottom line: education works.
Those educated in the 1940's and 50's are in their 50s and 60s today, and on average, they would oppose homosexual marriage, because the schools had not endorsed homosexuality at that point. Today, however, homosexual indoctrination is everywhere. It is pervasive throughout the culture. One is marked as homophobic if he breathes a word against it in a high school classroom.
But more fundamentally, the schools refuse to teach an education rooted in the fear of God. Instead, they teach a religion of tolerance, pluralism, and polytheism. The only thing which is not tolerated is a man who stands up and makes an unequivocal statement against sodomy or incest, or anything whatsoever. The only god not tolerated is the God who says, "You shall have no other gods before me." That is the religion of the public schools, and "Christian" children everywhere have learned it well.
Anti-monotheism guarantees Ethical Relativism. And it doesn't matter how many Republicans you put in office, it doesn't matter how much money you put into a Referendum campaign for marriage, it doesn't matter how many yard signs you put up in your yard and how many bumper stickers you have on your car, YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE. I said, "YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE!"
1 Sam. 15:7-9 "And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly."
Lesson learned: if you kill what is vile and refuse, and leave the king alive, you will continue to lose the battle throughout the generations. Our age exactly replicates the half-hearted obedience of Saul, who went after the gross and vile thing, but refused to kill the root and branch.
Later in the above chapter, we read that Samuel hacked Agag to pieces before the LORD - a violent obedience indeed.
Now applying the lesson to the issue at hand, our education system will guarantee a liberal direction in the long haul. By definition, public schools will endorse statism and immorality. As long as the ACLU and the NEA refuses to allow public schools to teach the fear of God as the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, we will see Republicans continue to adopt a liberal agenda, and the Democrats will do their best to stay a year or two ahead on the agenda. If conservatives and Christians really wanted to maintain a conservative direction for the country, they would put every nickel of their resources behind dismantling the public school monopoly.
We are producing homosexuals at a MUCH higher rate in this country than ever before.
Homosexuals come from fatherless homes. Clinical psychologist, Joseph Nicolosi makes this intuitively-obvious point in his book Preventing Homosexuality: A Parent's Guide. Says Nicolosi, "In 15 years, I have spoken with hundreds of homosexual men. I have never met one who said he had a loving, respectful relationship with his father."
This is not to say that every homosexual is born fatherless, but a marked distance in the father-son relationship is a significant contributor to the homosexual phenomena.
Fathers are at premium today. When I say fathers, I mean dads who invest themselves heart and life in their sons and daughters.
But a world where 36% of children born without fathers (up from 5% forty years ago) will produce huge increases in homosexuality.
The homosexuals raised in fatherless homes in the 1960s (when the illegitmacy rate was a mere 5-6%), are the 40-year-old activists today. But the fatherless problem is far worse today by a factor of 700%! What will this world look like 40 years from now?
We have not even seen the beginning of the modern homosexual movement! I forecast at least double the percentage of homosexuals in 2025 in America, and that means far more homosexual propaganda, far more homosexual political influence, and far more homosexual perversions endorsed and promoted by civil fiat.
36% of children may be born without fathers, but a far higher percentage of little boys grow up without their father's hearts for most of their developmental years. The hearts of far too many fathers are consumed with work, sports, entertainment, and play. I wish a father would understand what he is doing when he prefers his golf game every Saturday to spending a little time with his son who is crying out to his father for attention, love, and discipleship. Do these fathers understand they may be consigning their sons to a homosexual lifestyle? Or what about the father who abandons his little boy and his little girl in his heart when he grabs that Playboy magazine or surfs the porn sites?
All the conservatives activists and pro-traditional marriage yard signs in the world are not going to stop homosexual marriage or impede the rush towards wholesale social acceptance of abberrant lifestyles as long as the father-son relationship continues to degrade year after year. Two years ago, 35% of children were born without fathers. This year, 36% of children were born without fathers. Until this indice shifts direction, I have little hope for the battle against homosexuality in the modern age.
The church is unwilling to fight the battle.
Witness - the most recent battle for traditional marriage in Colorado. Folks working for the pro-family marriage referendums in Colorado reported significant opposition to their efforts to disseminate pro-family information from "conservative" churches. Reportedly, the churches were afraid that the pro-family message would turn off the homosexuals they were trying to reach!
Now this brings up an interesting question. When you try to reach rapists with the Gospel of Jesus, should you state up front that rape is a sin? I would postulate that when you try to reach liars or homosexuals or anybody else with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you need to put the Law of God on the front of the brochure.
For the apostles, repentance and faith were two sides of the same coin (Acts 20:21), but the modern church shies away from the law of God and the dreaded "R" word, because such a message is too confrontational for the culture and would turn off the crowd. Indeed the theological and practical separation of grace and law, and faith and repentance has done untold damage to the Christian faith across the west.
How to Win
The political battles have become symbolic reenactments of some old battle already lost. Our initiatives and referendums are nothing but carpet cleaning over a crumbling foundation.
If we are going to win, our reformations must be more fundamental. We must reform our theology, our parenting, and our education systems if we are going to see any appreciable change whatsoever in the wider culture. But if Christians are unwilling to reform here, they might as well burn all of their yard signs and wait for the homosexuals to break down the door of the house.
Our mortification must extend to both root and branch, flower and stem. But at this point, I'm afraid our hearts are not ready to go that deep. For it would condemn us all and that is a message too hard to receive.
